Have you been struggling to accomplish a particular goal for many years? Whether it is weight loss/gain, starting a business, having a family, getting a job, gaining a husband/wife, etc. This should be the year that you cut out all of the B.S. from your life, and to not apologize for doing so.

Many times we find ourselves so focused on things that don’t matter to where we lose track of what does. We spend countless amounts of time watching, doing, or eating things that are not contributing to our success, when we could be reading a book, writing an article, having coffee with a mentor, or just simply relaxing and enjoying spending quality time with family or the children in our lives. It’s time to take control of our lives and get back to what matters. To do that, we must first get rid of the B.S. in our lives and make room for what really matters.

ANALYZE YOUR FAV 5

Have you heard that you are who you surround yourself with? I remember Will Smith saying this at some point. Think about it. Those that you surround yourself with will eventually influence your thinking and way of life. Do you see Jay-Z or Bill Gates sitting down and breaking bread with someone who is not in the same income bracket or at least living the same lifestyle as them? Jay-Z is a prime example of this because you can easily see which direction he is trying to go in. He’s sitting down having discussions with William Buffett! He’s moving forward, not backwards. It’s time for you to do the same. Take a look at the 5 people you are around the most and ask yourself if they are on your level or at least on a level that you’re aspiring to be on.

WATCH THE FLOCK AT WORK

“Birds of a feather, flock together”. The same above can be applied in the workplace. If you’re surrounding yourself with someone who is constantly negative and always has the latest gossip, rest assure that management is keeping an eye on that. Genuinely surround yourself with those who have aspirations in and outside of the business. And I really mean genuinely. No one wants to be around someone who is a “brown-noser” or a “kisser-upper”. Make connections that are genuine, and watch your opportunities increase dramatically.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

One thing that I hate is hearing someone talk about how badly they want to lose weight, and then you see them eating a sour cream and cheese covered burrito full of unhealthy fats and calories, then washing it all down with a humongous Pepsi, then Ben & Jerry’s for dessert. In order to have the best body, you have to eat the best food. Cut out the b.s. (processed food) and watch that body you dreamed of appear right before your eyes. If processed food is your savior, then just simply love yourself the way you made yourself. People will respect you more for your genuine confidence in yourself.

BE THE PERSON YOU WANT TO ATTRACT

We hear so many people waiting on Mrs. Right or Mr. Right to just fall right into their lap. I hate to break it to you, but it doesn’t happen that way. Mrs. and Mr. Right will show up when you least expect it. Usually, when you are Mrs. or Mr. Right yourself. Let me tell you, the most beautiful person in the world is one who is confident and knows that they can make it out here in the world alone. Wouldn’t a confident person who has everything together attract you too? A person shouldn’t complete your life, they should enhance it. While you’re in the kitchen mixing up your own ingredients to ensure that you’re a top notch catch, be patient and trust that your Mrs. or Mr. Right is in the kitchen cooking as well.

If you’re not already doing what was mentioned above, it is not too late to start. I encourage you all to make changes in your life and rid yourself of the B.S. so we can all be the person we were destined to be. Let’s go!

What are you doing to rid yourself of the B.S. this year so that you can excel at your endeavors?
